Europe Day Brussels — Youth Voices at EU Institutions Open Day invites you to take part in a public moment where young people share their ideas, hopes, and concerns about the future of Europe.
On Saturday, 9 May 2026, in Brussels, we invite you to join the EU Institutions Open Day and add your voice to a collective reflection on what Europe is today and what it could become tomorrow.
Your voice will become part of a collective moment that reflects how young people across Europe imagine the future of the Union.
Europe Day is celebrated every year on 9 May and marks the historic Schuman Declaration of 1950, which laid the foundations for today’s European Union. It represents peace, unity, and cooperation between European countries.
Each year, EU institutions open their doors to the public in Brussels, offering citizens the opportunity to explore their work and engage with European policies, values, and priorities.

We invite you to step into an open and interactive space at the heart of the EU Open Day, where your voice as a young person in Europe becomes part of a shared conversation about the future.
At the centre of the experience, you will find a live photo installation designed to capture what Europe means to you today and what you want it to become tomorrow.
You will be invited to respond to simple, open prompts such as what Europe needs more of, what kind of future you hope for, or how young people should help shape it. Your answers can be written freely and will become part of a collective visual installation representing youth perspectives from across Europe.
Once you’ve shared your message, you will be photographed as part of the installation, contributing to a wider series of portraits and statements that will be shared on social media to amplify youth voices beyond the event itself.
To participate, you will be asked to share a few basic details (such as your name, age, and whether you are studying or working) and to confirm your consent for your image and contribution to be used in communication materials.
This is more than an activity; it is a space for expression, visibility, and connection, where individual voices come together to shape a collective narrative about Europe’s future.
